I firstly imagined Corsac as a flat ribbed sweater. I wanted it to be quite simple, but with a different sleeve construction. And to make it even more of an everyday garment, black appeared to be the perfect shade. Of course, I immediately thought of the Only Black colourway by Yarn By Simone. Then, a cardigan version popped into my brain, in a fierce red, the brand new Venus as a boy colourway.
Corsac pattern offers instructions for both a sweater and a cardigan; it is worked from the top down, in a 3/2 ribbing pattern on the body and the sleeves. The neckline and shoulders and shaped using short rows, knit back and forth. The armhole is picked up as you go, to create delicate faux seam, and sleeves are worked straight to achieve a puffed look, falling nicely on the wrist.
